Our law firm is currently handling lawsuits on behalf of individuals who were exposed to hazardous glass fibers released by Zinus, Inc.’s mattresses. Exposure to glass fibers from Zinus mattresses is associated with an increased risk of serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
Since 2004, Zinus has been manufacturing mattresses with fiberglass as a fire retardant. Approximately 8,000 people in the United States own defective Zinus mattresses. Zinus mattresses contain a zipper on the outer cover, suggesting to users that it is removable. However, when the consumer removes the outer layer, the inner layer releases fiberglass. Glass fragments can become stuck under the skin and may require surgery to remove them.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received more than a dozen complaints related to fiberglass in mattresses. A class action lawsuit has been filed against Zinus for failing to adequately warn consumers about this defect and fraudulently concealing the health hazards associated with its mattresses.
Exposure to fiberglass can result in serious injuries including dermatitis, chronic breathing issues, upper respiratory infections, eye damage, gastrointestinal problems, and worsening of asthma symptoms. Individuals who have been injured by defective Zinus mattresses may also require surgery.
If you or a loved one has been injured by Zinus Mattress, you may recover compensation for any or all of the following:

The dangers of Zinus mattresses were exposed in February 2020. Amanda Chandler and Robert Durham of Illinois filed a class action lawsuit against Zinus and its retailers claiming that the mattress was defective. The couple discovered tiny pieces of fiberglass on their child’s bed and clothing. The tiny fragments caused cuts on his skin and destroyed many of the family’s personal belongings. Other retailers who sold the mattresses, including Target Corp., Amazon, LLC and Walmart, were added as defendants to the lawsuit. The number of plaintiffs in the class action against Zinus has grown to nearly 200.
